NDDC donates Generator and Tractor to Veritas University

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has donated a 375kva Generator and a Tractor to Veritas University,Abuja (Obehie) campus.

Abia State co-ordinator of NDDC, Engineer Osmond C. Adiele who presented the Generator and Tractor to the University on Monday, June 22, 2009 expressed delight that the University was established in Ukwa West, the oil producing area of Abia State.

He enjoined the University Management to make judicious use of the Generator and ensure that there would be constant power supply in the campus as well as use the Tractor to the service of the University.

Engineer Adiele stated that the Niger Delta Development Commission will always partner with Veritas to ensure that the University will be ranked among the best Universities in the world.

In his acceptance speech,the Vice-Chancellor of Veritas University, Rev.Fr.Professor Justin S. Ukpong thanked the NDDC for keeping to their promise of donating the Generator and Tractor to the University.

Professor Ukpong noted that he approached the NDDC on February, 2008 for assistance and they promised to allocate the equipments to help the University.

He therefore promised to use the equipments to the benefit of the University and the community at large.

The Catholic Bishop of Aba, Most Rev. Dr. Vincent Ezeonyia who represented the Catholic Bishops in the occasion thanked the NDDC for helping the University in their effort to be among the best in the world.

Bishop Ezeonyia dedicated the Generator and Tractor to God and enjoined the University to Use the equipments to the glory of God.

The Registrar of Veritas University, Chief Mojisola O. Ladipo,mni , the Dean of College of Management,Social Science, Arts and Theological Studies, Dr. John Uko, representative of Dean, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, Dr, Akpabio and other people from the University witnessed the presentation ceremony.
