Systems Administrator
Duties and Responsibilities

Keep custody of the University’s Intranet and Internet Servers and responsible for managing, maintaining, installation and deployment of network and Internet services
-
Installation, maintenance and extension of the the University's wired and wireless network across campuses.

Management and Maintenance of the University Portal
-
Provide advanced technical support to end users on standard and non standard software packages and in the resolution of complex software related problems
-
Maintain computer programmes that require integration of many interrelated systems and programme elements and ensure smooth data flow and security to protect confidentiality
-
Evaluate new standard software packages and provide feedback to management on selection of new software packages
-
Ensure the smooth functioning of other software systems maintained in the University Administration, including the software-operating Academic, Library and Accounting management
Required Qualification
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus knowledge of software systems,with bias for software development and website designing and development with 4 years’ cognate experience. The ideal candidate must be versatile, have a pleasant personality and be able to guide both young and adult learners in becoming comfortable with a fully digitized University.
Required Skills:

Knowledge and experience of all aspects of Linux and windows based technologies

Knowledge and experience of LAMP,
-
Experience in Internet Services (DNS,Mail,Web,DHCP) and Operating system Virtualization
-
Experience in server technology, operating system and networking essentials for WAN/LAN, switches, routers, cabling etc
-
Must possess certifications in networking, system administration, database management etc

Ability to work within a framework of corporate standards and policies

Knowledge of equipment installation and maintenance
-
Must be a team player
-
Must be able to promote the continuous improvement of workplace safety/environmental practices within the University.
Experience:
Minimum of four (4) years post NYSC relevant experience
