Rev. Fr. Justin S. Ukpong - Professor of New Testament - BA Philosophy, SThD Biblical Theology, Dip. Soc. Com. (Urbaniana, Rome), Dip. Soc. Dev. & Admin. (St. FX, Canada), Doctor of Theology Honoris Causa (University of Bern) Prof. Ukpong started his academic career in 1980 and has taught in tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, Switzerland, South Africa and the USA. He was Professor of New Testament at the University of Uyo, Nigeria, when he was appointed Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Veritas University in September 2007. He is a recipient of many Awards, Fellowships and Honours some of which are, the Catholic Biblical Association of America Senior Scholars’ Fellowship for research in African Interpretation of the Bible (2003), Distinguished Scholar of the 21st Century award from the Cambridge Biographical Centre (2002), Honorary Doctorate Degree in Theology from the University of Bern, Switzerland (2000). He was the Vatican representative at the World Council of Churches, Geneva, 1989 - 1990. He has, to his credit, several publications including books and articles in academic journals. He assumed duty as Vice-Chancellor of Veritas University on 1 December, 2007 and brings to this position his wealth of experience of working in academic Institutions in Nigeria and broad.
