VERITAS UNIVERSITY ABUJA INDUCTS PIONEER LAW STUDENTS

Veritas University, Abuja on Wednesday, 17th November 2021, conducts orientation exercise for the first set of students in the Faculty of Law. The newly admitted who numbered 50, were at the orientation exercise, exposed to the nuances of the legal profession while handing them the requisite information to cope with the newly found profession.

The faculty of Law consists of renounced legal practitioners who have carved a niche for themselves in the field. They include three senior advocates of Nigeria among whom are, Prof. Epihany Azinge, (SAN), Prof. Paul Idornigie, (SAN) and Dr. Josephine A. Agbonika, (SAN). Others include: five PhDs amongst whom are senior lecturers and renowned legal academics.

While addressing the students, the Vice Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Hyacinth Ichoku, told the inductees that much was expected of them, being the only few to be admitted out of the mammoth crowd of applicants who came seeking to be admitted into the Faculty. He therefore, admonished the students to leave a record of high moral and professional standards for the subsequent sets to build on, adding that, the University has put in place, what is required to produce a crop of lawyers that will be the best among their peers. Other principal officers in attendance included; the Registrar, Dr. Mrs. Stella Okonkwo, the University Bursar, Mrs. Margaret Akoje among others.
