The Faculty of Social Sciences, Veritas University, Abuja was established in 2013, carved out of the mega College of Management, Social Sciences, Arts and Theological Studies (MSAT). The faculty is committed to advancing excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement in ways that respond to the evolving social, political, economic, and overall developmental realities of Nigeria, Africa, and the wider global community. Rooted in the university’s tradition of holistic education and moral responsibility, the faculty seeks to nurture intellectually grounded, ethically conscious, and socially responsive graduates equipped with the agency of thought-leadership as well as hands on tools to contribute meaningfully to national transformation and global discourse

Our vision is to build a dynamic academic community that promotes critical inquiry, interdisciplinary scholarship, innovation, and leadership in the social sciences. We strive to develop graduates who possess not only professional competence and analytical depth, but also the integrity, empathy, and civic consciousness required to address complex societal challenges in an increasingly interconnected world. Through a student-centered learning environment, the faculty encourages creativity, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

The faculty comprising of four departments namely; Economics, Mass Communication, Political Science and Diplomacy and Peace and Conflict Studies, offers rigorous academic programmes designed to provide students with a solid theoretical foundation and practical understanding of contemporary social issues. Our academic focus spans key areas such as governance and public policy, media and communication, peace and conflict studies, economic development, social justice, human behavior, international relations, and sustainable development. By integrating research, field engagement, and policy-oriented learning, we prepare students to function effectively in academia, industry, public service, development institutions, and the global knowledge economy.
